Position:  Classroom Co-Teachers for all age groups (particularly 0-3)

Start Date: July 1st or August 15th

Location: Montpelier, Vermont

Montpelier Children’s House is a Five STAR, Universal Pre-K partner and birth to five early childhood program that is celebrating it’s 40th year of operation in 2024.  We are in the process of an organizational restructure that includes becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit program and committing to a program model that supports the implementation of an inquiry-driven, reflective practice model of curriculum development. 

We are a small and motivated group of professionals who share a commitment to re-imagining Early Childhood Education in a model that supports teachers as researchers and offers a daily structure that provides ample opportunity for reflective practice, documentation and practicing of the cycle of inquiry. This is paired with on-going mentoring and coaching by an experienced pedagogical lead. 

As we grow our program, we are seeking eager co-creators of MCH as a model of Reggio-Inspired practice in Central Vermont. Partners in this endeavor should be eager and enthusiastic with a firm commitment to professionalism and collaborative work.

Ideal applicants should have a strong interest and/or understanding of the Reggio Emilia approach and ideally have experience working in an inquiry-driven program.

  • A demonstrated commitment to using the Cycle of Inquiry for planning a contextual curriculum for a group of children

  • Experience developing small-group project work that is inquiry-driven

  • Hold a strong identity as teacher-researcher and have an enthusiasm for on-going professional growth and development.
